Build Bronxville Brick by Brick (Grades 3-6)
LET’S BUILD BRONXVILLE USING 100,000 LEGO BUILDING BLOCKS
Bronxville has a rich heritage of Architecturally significant buildings including residences, commercial, religious, and educational structures. The Bronxville Historical Conservancy wants everyone to be aware of this rich Architectural Heritage that surrounds us. What if we could learn about 50 of these buildings by building 50 models using 100,000 LEGO building blocks? The fact is that you may have passed these buildings every day and simply did not take special notice.
On Sunday, February 11th 2024, from 1-3pm, 50 lucky families will work as a “family team” to build a LEGO model within a 2 hour time limit using just a “photo” of the building they choose. A parent must work with their children, and children must be in grades 3-6. Registration is limited to the first 50 families that register online. Each family team is limited to 4 participants.
At the conclusion of the event, a 40-foot map of Bronxville will be rolled out and all the models will be placed on the giant map. We will then have an amazing aerial view of Bronxville. A whole new way to look at our fabulous community. Each family will receive the “Architectural Treasure Hunt Map” showing where all the selected 50 buildings are located so that you can go out as a family to find each building.
