The 2018 HBO documentary short is a gentle and age appropriate introduction to the Holocaust. The film is narrated by a 10 year old boy, Elliot, and his 90 year old great-grandfather, Jack, a survivor of Auschwitz. This gentle yet powerful family film centers on Elliot's love for his great-grandfather and his wish to share Jack's experiences as a child in Poland, the loss of his family, surviving the concentration camps, and finding a good and new life in America.
We invite children and parents to join us for a viewing and discussion Monday, November 20th at 6 PM in the Bronxville School Auditorium.
We’ll first watch the 20 minute documentary together in the Auditorium at 6 pm and then will break out into two groups; the 3rd - 5th graders and their parents will proceed to the Multi Purpose Room and the 6th-8th graders with their parents will remain in the Auditorium. Both groups will be joined by a facilitator to help guide conversation about this important topic.
